One of my figurative pieces in the “Rites” series.
Trinity & Grace depicts that very familiar experience of swinging a delighted child around “whizzy dizzy”.
It is also an exploration of the precarious moment between hanging on and letting go. Here mother and daughter hold a firm, secure grip with one hand and are just parted with the other. The questions of who is holding who? who is releasing? and what happens next are all present here.
This work also contains a delightful number of triangles.
