All constructed of steel, with some zinc and old paint.
There are 9 steps and 47 players in the tableau.

This is the closest I have come to creating a people. Making the heads and faces was most enjoyable. The random mutations that happen at the welding tip can amuse me for days.

I discovered after completion that the top step can be played like a note on the kalimba. I invite you to try this and watch what happens to the figures.

Perhaps being the first and the highest just lost its appeal?
