Afterlife
Afterlife exploits the ambiguities surrounding our response to death, bereavement, last rites and interment.
Like Queue, an earlier and related sculpture by the artist, this work invites us to consider the unique nature of human behaviour and some of our more peculiar rituals. It poses many questions while leaving the answers entirely for the viewer to discuss.
All the steel used in this work is recycled and has been recovered from other processes. The mourners’ cloaks were sourced from an old galvanised wash tub.
